KAP Mom’s Favorite ½ Pt.

1/2 Pint was truly my favorite …from birth, this little heifer was just very special. In the thick of our show career, we had “alot” of cattle to choose from & several of us choosing. So not everyone that should have gone to a show got to, there wasn’t enough barn space or manpower to get them ready, so the heifers got rotated through. She did manage to win California and Reserve Denver as she passed through.

KAP Mt Rocky aka “Stud Muffin”

“Stud Muffin” is the name given to KAP Mt. Rocky when we took him to be collected. A 36# birth weight on this guy didn’t hinder his progress, growth or production one bit. Stud Muffin was “Pre-show- time”, born in 1996 well before any Miniature Hereford shows had materialized. His genetic line was the other 1/2 of our breeding program. His prodigy crossed with Henry’s built the KP Miniature Hereford genetic pool that proved many times over in the show ring to be “the best”. He has most of 2oo prodigy registered with the American Hereford Association and with his low birth weight is also a great choice for first calf heifers.

KAP Fletcher Quip

KAP Fletcher Quip multi time division champion son of champion producer, KAP Lil Kid Quip & Champion and champion producer KAP 1/2 Jazzy Arlou. Fletcher was shown as a baby & won & reserved his division in class and also as the calf of the Cow/calf, the following season as a young yearling, we put him to work with a pasture full of heifers. Unfair to him, we brought him in a week prior to the IA State Fair & took him to the show 100# lighter than anything in his class where he still finished 3rd in a class of 6. Later that year he finished second in class behind a bull 200# heavier than himself beating two more that also outweighed him by up to 125#. Fletcher has been the most popular and productive of Quip’s sons and has been a large part of our embryo transfer program over the years. With about 150 registered offspring and many embryos in the tank, his lineage lives on. This third generation low birthweight sire is a great choice for breeding first calf heifers.
